The outdoor turf track is only used during the late spring, summer and early fall months because it is made of a mile and a half of long rolling hills. Horses are worked over it regularly to build up their lung capacity and stamina. The rolling turf course creates extremely fit horses and even the WCS turf horses have been to give the dirt runners at WCS a hard time when placed on the flat dirt track.
